Recently completed interior fit-out of a ladies boutique in Shawlands.

Shawlands Shop

The clients, Pamela and Gillian, were looking for a bespoke interior to create a unique shopping experience that reflected their interests in design and fashion. The shop unit is located in the ground floor of a tenement block on Skirving Street, Glasgow.

The main feature is a free form, floor-to-ceiling floating shelf that runs the full length of the shop. This dips and curves to form shelves at various heights and to frame the clothing on display. A bespoke butterfly table was crafted from handpicked douglas fir. The sales counter was also created from the same douglas fir and laser etched perspex sheets.

Jonathan McQuillan currently works at Anderson Bell + Christie Architects but this was a private commission – the design work was carried out exclusively by Jonathan McQuillan
