Cookie – Glasgow’s New comer restaurant of the year
pictures from owner
Set in a converted butchers shop in a Alexander “Greek” Thomson tenement on the Southside. It has quickly established itself as a great new addition to the cities culinary offering. Cookie is a great place for a coffee, drink or meal before you set out to explore of the Southside, with the Tramway just a skip and a jump away or take a lazy stroll through Pollokshields on of Britain’s most beautiful garden suburbs to Pollok park and the Burrell Collection.
Crabshakk
New Glasgow restaurant: Crabshakk (set up by an architect from Lewis, capacity around 50), located at 1114 Argyle Street, Finnieston: +44 (0)141 334 6127
Former Glasgow restaurant listed but now removed:
Nairn’s, 13 Woodside Crescent, Charing Cross
Like Amaryllis this classic Glasgow restaurant is no more. Nairn’s was a five-star restaurant and used to be run by Scottish celebrity chef Nick Nairn who now teaches people to cook at his own Scottish Cookery School. Nairn’s dining experience was infamously attacked by Gordon Ramsay.
