GIA Dinner
The 2008 GIA Annual Members Dinner was held at Oran Mor, Glasgow. As well as being one of the most important social events in the chapter diary, the dinner is also the occasion on which the prestigious GIA Annual Design Awards are announced.
THE GIA ANNUAL DESIGN AWARDS 2008
Entries to the 2008 GIA Annual Design Awards are now being invited. The annual GIA Awards are recognised at local and national level and are one of the main highlights of the annual GIA programme.
All entries will be featured on the GIA website and selected entries will feature in the GIA Annual Awards Exhibition. The Supreme Award winner, Awards winners, and Commendations were announced at the GIA Annual Awards Dinner on 14 November at Òran Mór, Glasgow.
All entries were considered for two additional awards – The GIA Sustainability
Award, and the GIA Supreme Award.
THE GIA SUPREME AWARD was awarded to the architects of the most outstanding building on the final shortlist. In 2007 the first Supreme Award was presented to Elder and Cannon Architects for their Castlemilk Stables Block and to Past President Fiona Sinclair in recognition of her many years’ work on behalf of the GIA. A cast of the original GIA seal was presented.
