This modern Scottish visitor attraction is located in the Clyde Waterfront Regeneration area on the south bank of the River Clyde. Queen Elizabeth II officially opened the building on 5 July 2001. It is one of Scotland’s most popular paid-for visitor attractions.
There are hundreds of interactive exhibits in the Science Mall, a Planetarium, Scotland’s biggest-screen IMAX cinema, a Science Show Theatre, a cafe and a shop.

Building Finance
The building operators are reportedly struggling to cope with a large financial deficit within first year of being open
May 2002.
Graving Docks, Govan
A masterplan was unveiled which will see the graving docks at Govan, close to this Pacific Quay building, being redeveloped as a site for 500 homes, a 300-bedroom hotel, houseboats, bars, a floating restaurant and shops. The former Harland & Wolff tidal basin and dry docks will give way to a plaza, designed by the French architects, Valode & Pistre, for the city council.
