11 Dec 2002 – Further to the major national press coverage and support from prominent public figures such as Ewan McGregor, Scotland’s second Hospice for terminally ill children has been granted planning permission.
Gareth Hoskins Architects’ competition winning design is the first major planning application in the new national park at Loch Lomond. Despite the design having been commended by bodies such as The Royal Fine Arts Commission, the new Park Authority’s Planning advisor recommended the project for refusal on site and policy issues.
Following huge national outcry and support, the committee voted yesterday to approve the application for this much needed facility.
